Kinansela ng Intellectual Property Office (IPO) of the Philippines ang trademark registration ng Television and Production Exponents, Inc. (TAPE) para sa pangalang "Eat Bulaga" at "EB." Sa 16 na pahinang desisyon ng IPO na inilabas nitong Martes, kinatigan nito ang petisyon nina Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, at Joey de Leon, na sila ang tunay na may-ari ng "Eat Bulaga" trademark.
Ang desisyon ng IPO ay inilabas matapos na magbigay ng mga katibayan at testimonya ang panig ng TVJ tungkol sa pinagmulan ng pangalan ng show. Sinabi naman ni TAPE Inc. legal counsel Atty. Maggie Garduque na hindi pa nila natatanggap ang kopya ng desisyon.
"But if this is true, under the rules [TAPE] can appeal this decision to the director of the [Bureau of Legal Affairs] of IPO," sabi ni Garduque sa media.
